Qi Gong

What is it?

Qi Gong is a form of gentle movement aimed at restoring balance and harmony to the body and mind.  It is most effective when performed daily – 15 minutes a day can make a tangible difference!.Sally doing qi gong

  • It is sometimes referred to as ‘moving meditation‘.
  • The ‘form‘ taught consists of 18 easy-to-learn movements which are performed in time with the natural rhythm of the breath.
  • Qi Gong can usually be learnt in 5-6 sessions and these will be backed up by a free DVD, which shows all the movements, for home use between lessons.

What Can I expect from a lesson?

Lessons are one to one and where possible we will work outside.  Qi Gong is usually taught in a standing position, however, if this is difficult for you, it can be taught sitting down.

A lesson usually last from 50 minutes to an hour

What conditions might it be good for?

This particular form of Qi Gong is good for calming the mind, for the joints and for the digestive system. Research indicates that in general, Qi Gong is good for hypertension and chronic pain.

£100 for 4 lessons payable in advance and this includes a DVD.

Group sessions for older people

I have worked with the residents of local sheltered housing schemes for 3 years now with excellent results!

Group sessions are safe and informal and because the movements are simple and non-demanding, people are able to pick them up very quickly and perform them with confidence.

Qi Gong is very adaptable, so it is appropriate even for people with limited mobility or for people who need to sit down throughout the session.
